Meet Cruise This saturday (9-26-09)

I don't think the point was to drive 90+% on the street, especially the roads we took. That wouldn't be a cruise, that would be a race.. lol.
IMO, if you want to drive like that, keep it on the track so you don't kill someone or yourself. The street is too unpredictable (like your snow covered road example).

There are two roads I'm checking out this weekend depending on how the weekend actually goes. Both are long routes, In case you guys haven't figured this out yet Im not happy with driving around for 20 minutes.
I want my fun to last.
You didn't even go! You missed out...
Thats no good... I'm tryin to check this one starting in Shawsville that ends up back on Brambleton in Roanoke... You, me and Corey need to hit Potts Mtn. again... Of course for some spirited driving...
Next weekend as in the 10th and 11th? Ill be in Miami that weekend.
Yes you do LOL I know a lot though as I do the same thing. I drive around for no reason just to see where the hell this road leads too. There are a lot up in the new river valley that yall dont get to see.
+1 I love to get on it and push the car sometimes. but NEVER when there is a large group of cars involved. And def not on that road LOL

I'm in no means a street junkie.
My career means way more to me than any cruise I have been on. Plus if you know the meaning of my s/n, I worked VIR for 6 years and I have had more track time than the biggest portion of the members on any forum. Member days FTW!
I've never been 90% on the street. That is just plain stupid and has too many variables to get you over 100% at any given time at that rate. The streets aren't NASCAR, but talent runs out there just the same.

Trust me. If it has curves and elevation change in the western va area. I probably know about it or drove it already.
I did Sulfur springs road about a month ago. at the current ride height it worried me more than the several hundred feet drop that would have ensued had I gone off road. The drive up is great fun the switchbacks are awesome but not something I would want to do every day due to the road condition. And this is a 25 or less road once you hit the big part. dont even think about being "sprited" there. Far too dangerous, but the views are great.
Been there done that. It's fun. :P

No one was racing as I recall... I understand the street is not the same as the track... However, I am down for SPIRITED driving on backwoods roads where there is hardly any traffic... I enjoy my car and value my life too much to push both our limits to the edge on the street that is...
I spoke with Miles (for those that know him) earlier and he intends to go on Saturday. I plan to go but I am not sure which car I will have to drive, the DD or the track car.
Met Miles this past weekend, he seems like a cool down to earth guy.
I LOVE tuggles gap! thats one of the best unknown areas that most people from roanoke just dont want to drive that far.
Ill be checking out that full road as I haven't made it all the way to NC yet.
Squirrel Spur is a lot of fun if you like switchbacks and elevation changes. I think Squirrel Spur has like 1700 feet of elevation changes. Sucks for your ears, but it can be a lot of fun and there's virtually no traffic between Tuggle's Gap to Ararat, NC. Very light, at the most.

I was referring to GaRn's post. Spirited driving can be interpreted on many levels. I have enough roads in my area that are posted 55mph roads that simply can not maintain a 55mph average speed at any point on them.

Spirited for me = slightly more aggressive driving than normal... Of course depending on my mood that is... Yesterday was a little bit more spirited than I usually am on Sundays... I like to CRUISE on Sundays... Most I ever do is 35... I miss my mini for cruisin... Of course I wouldn't have minded railing it in some of those straights we encoutered yesterday...
