Anyway, there are a lot of great routes in and around Meadow's Of Dan and Fancy Gap... I like the ride up Bent Mountain through Floyd to Tuggle's Gap and beyond. I ended up in North Carolina one day just messing around, so I decided to come back and explore more, and I love that area!
^ Now you're talking. I know these roads very well. I grew up driving all of them more than anywhere else.
Squirrel Spur sucks since they straightened and widened the best part of the old road.
Miles is a good guy. He can be alot of fun and he knows his stuff on the DSM/Evo's.

Yeah, the locals even know when to yield to faster traffic. I've gotten alot of waves and thumbs up along the way through the years. I have a good friend who dumped his 748 on the spur coming uphill in the long left hand sweeper. Low off. Bike hit the bottom of the frame on a tree and that was that. He was good. He now believes in his gear, which was what I always stressed to him.

Sucks to hear about the 748. Was it trashed? How bad was he? From the sounds of it, he wasn't wearing much more than a lid was he? I didn't really get to enjoy Tuggle's Gap all that much during my first visit because I was just out for a casual ride, and I wasn't suited up. I just had half of a two piece suit on. The next time I went I made sure I was dressed to impress.

Gear. Is. Essential.

Yeah, that video had the most traffic that I have ever seen on the spur. It had to be sightseeing traffic or locals going back to Ararat. Too bad they took out the best section. You rarely ever see a 4 wheeler in your lane either. Unlike the dragon.
The bike was a total loss. He had a leather jacket on and some jeans. He was ok because he was able to slide it out on the bike until it was got to the grass and then he parted with the bike. He was perfectly fine, other than being heartbroken.
