but after a day at the track, disaster struck right when i got home
I had a great time this weekend, weather turned out to be great.
Friday was a blast tons of track time with not a huge field. Flat spotted one of my RA1's that were about dead anyway, so phils tire service had one set left he shaved for me at the track...had them by my 2nd session saturday.
Saturday last session i lost my 2nd gear, good news is i dont use it often at all. Also had S/c belt issues but it ended up working it self out.
Glad i have 4 months to improve the car, well and fix it. As of now i have a car with 1st gear that wont stay unless i hold it, no 2nd....and as of tonight wouldnt crank when i was trying to get it off the trailer...lol
Good news is i have a spare tranny, and starter/solenoid.
Next season ill be back with bigger brakes, a rear diff and hopefully a high 2:18 low 2:19 @ Full.

I ran TTC and had my father as my group1 student. Dad did very well and I think he will be doing more events next year. I finished 2nd in class yesterday and first in class today. Too bad there were only 2 of us on Sat and just me today. But a win is a win!!!! I also ran a personal best during my last session 2:17.779 and improved during ever session.
Vinny I don't see why you couldn't get down in the 2:18 2:19 range with your car. I do think you may want to test fit a set of 225/45/15's though. Oh and I just happen to have a set and they may FS if I don't kill them this winter doing some Driftwater events.
Thanx to the All Aspects crew another super fun weekend.

^ Your integra is red w/ a white hood right? Tow w/ a white Chevy? I passed you on 58 on the way home in my truck and waved.
I ran a 2:08.850 first timed session this AM which was a new best. Finished 3rd in TTS behind Fritz Flynn's RX7 that ran a 2:07.78 and Dan Kroll's STi w/ a 2:08.4
2nd session they finally gridded us properly so I started 4th behind the Element Tuning WRX, Forged Tuning GTR, and Dan's subi. I set a new personal best w/ a 2:07.371 (2nd place) (my first lap) to Dan's 2:06.671 (his 2nd lap)... I was on his tail the whole lap. On my 2nd hot lap behind Dan (the lap he ran his 2:06 on) I was on his tail and took a staight line into roller coaster on the back straight to ake up ground and spun while trail braking in. Dan's STi would pull 3ish cars on me coming out of Oak Tree, I'd make up a little on the high end, and I'd catch him in the big braking zones... but after that spin I was done going fast. Car was vibrating and I did a few more medium paced laps and came in. Found that my LR tire had some huge globs of rubber on it and my left side wheel bearings have play in them... thanks to VIR being mostly right turns.
I have to say I have a new level of respect for the GTR... those guys ran a 2:00 w/ bolt-ons and stickey tires. A car you could drive to work in auto-mode everyday.
Anyone almost hit the GTR's tailpipe on the 2nd session?
Oh... I also learned that WRX's are horrible on brakes. Dan said he has a Brembo BBK and has to swap rotors every weekend. The WRX has about 60% of it's weight up front. That's crazy.

My times were pretty good compared to the TTD cars that ran, so with some more seat time and a part here and there...I think i could be pretty competitive in that car in that class.
Even with the front grip, steering and braking issues the weekend was still fun and now I can check going 160MPH off my list of shit to do before I die after the rides in the GTR. Unfortunately I understand the guy became a tool after I got out of the car.
Couple of pics from the weekend...

Luckily that thing was away from my line. It took me two laps to realize what it was haha. So did someone hit it and send it sailing or did a brave corner worker run out and grab it?
I sure hope I never have that kind of brake usage if I ever upgrade the turbo. I've been on the same Brembo slotted rotors all year (17 track days, 7 or so autox's) and they're just starting to shop a lip on the outside. I got through pads every 2 or 3 weekends depending on the time of year. Was Dan's STi like that, or is that how they are stock?
We talking about the guy in the gunmetal one plates 'OO YEAH' or Sharif's buddy that was all tat'd up?
