Then apparently they need to try something else...

There is two hook's now and not only do they clip into the floor the clips also have backward facing teeth to further prevent them from moving. Not to mention the mat's have rubber tit's I guess you can say to help them from moving. We had a new xb in the shop with a rear cargo mat with these same rubber tit's after pressing the mat down we grabbed the mat and pulled and I dint not budge. I dont think that guy wrecking was due to the mat. There is just way too many other things that he could of done. But I know that toyota has a history of floormat problems

Just remove them.

The guy wrecked because there were multiple floor mats (think those big rubber all-weather ones) stacked on top of eachother and the pedal got hung under the rubber mat.

Yea that's pretty much what we do. I'm sure it's not suprising that nobody want's their floormat ziptied to the seat bracket.

i deal with enough recalls my self at a gm dealership, and your right people will use any excuse, bot to say toyota should stop building trucks is just retarded. those same vehicles you use to like were frond on at one time and grew on us as time past. toyota trucks rock but the sad reality is none of the new stuff from any automaker is worth the crazy money they want for them. soon as the warranty runs out the pieces of junk usually have their biggest problems. i always say go built not bought

There's a surprising amount of lulz in this thread. Toyota and Nissan should go back to building just medium trucks. GM, Ford, Chrysler build rock solid, proven medium and large trucks. And yes, everything built nowadays is overpriced, and it's sad, but whatever. The Titan and Tundra are nothing in comparison to the Big 3 trucks, which is why I lul everytime I see one. The small/medium trucks Toyota and Nissan built in the past 20/30 years are proven....but there's been nothing but problems with the large trucks. What's next? Nissan and Toyota duallies? That would be the joke of the century.
