Default speeding ticket.

Eh. got a speeding ticket last night on jefferson, going pass newport news park.

he says i was going 62 but my speedometer said 50.

and he clocked me when he was driving towards me.

Question is can that still be a accurate reading?
should i just pay it. or go to court?

Just pay that shit. Also have you gotten your speedo calibrated? If not your aftermarket size wheels can make the difference.

Good luck having a judge give a shit unless you can prove your speedo is off. Then you may have a chance. They don't give a shit about that excuse anymore. He will ask you why it was off. You will say you have aftermarket wheels. He will ask you why didn't you check the calibration. You will be speechless.

I'd say pay it. And before you doubt me, I have witnessed this twice just the week before last.

Good point. Yeah I concur with you. He should just pay it and be done. It's not like a reckless or anything.

I never understood why people would just pre-pay the ticket. They are giving you a chance to go to court, and the judge MAY grant you some le-way. But, if you just pre-pay you are giving up that chance. Just because people online are telling you judges won't accept it, doesn't mean shit. You never know how that judge woke up that morning, what mood he/she is in, or how forgiving they are feeling. Worse thing that happens is you get found guilty and end up paying anyway. Seems logical to atleast see what the judge will do.

I agree, but time is money. If you lose, now you're out the day in court + the ticket.

Judges usually don't give leway on regular speeding tickets. Trust me I have had more than my fair share of them. I have prepaid and gone to court for some. Going to court for those types of tickets was a waste of my time.

Plus I don't know about you but I can't just simply take days off work for court.

Ticket is more spensive if you got to court.
