well actually LASER requires precise and steady aiming of the device at the target vehicle so you would have to hold the LASER at a fairly accurate point on the vehicle and keep it there as teh vehicle is moving. also, you can't shoot a LASER through glass (windshield, etc). the only mobile LASER systems i have seen have this huge fucking thing on top of the car and the 2nd officer inside controls the laser with a joystick and a computer screen of where it's aiming. i tried to find some pics on the intarwebz but apparently i am teh fail.

LOL. For some reason I found that hilarious. And started laughing in the middle of class. Oops.

Yes it can be accurate. Just pay it man.

I agree with this aswell. Another concern would also be how it would affect his insurance. I read earlier he is 16, so Im going to guess he is probably in school. Im sure he won't mind missing a day of school . Also starting at 16 w/ first speeding ticket is not going to look good, but its not my driving record

For OP, I fucked up my driving record when I was younger and If you continue you will not be able to afford your nice toys for along time. Just more of my .02

What were the variables?

Was he passing you in opposite direction?
Other cars around you?
Were those cars going faster/slower?
Are you sure your speedo said 50?

Dude, I've gotten blasted with so many tickets. My speedometer gear was fucked in my transmission had teeth missing so it'd intermittently give false readings.

You want to try and get that reduced. Not sure what the speed limit on Jefferson is, but if you just got a Reckless, they stay on your record for 11 years. So you want it atleast a 19 over. Keep in mind, even if in opposing directions, he can have an accurate reading, so there is no arguement there.

Don't just pay the ticket, try and get it dropped. Your best bet is to bite the bullet and get a lawyer, it'll be less for you in the long run esp owning an S2000. Insurance is rape. If you haven't taken a driving class in 2 years VOLUNTARILY, go take one, get the extra 5 points cause youll need it when they deduct the 6 for a Reckless if you haven't gotten it dropped when you go to court.

You are telling him to lawyer up on a ticket with $5/mph over the limit where he would haver to pay $60 plus court costs?? (He was clocked at 62... 12 over the 50mph limit. $5x12mph = $60). Usually court costs are $51. So he should lawyer up for $111?????

EDIT: I just reread his op and it does not specify speed limit. What was the speed limit man?

Well, incase you didn't read.

I clearly said.

I DONT KNOW THE SPEEDLIMIT ON JEFFERSON. I'm a Virginia beach kid.

however,

I did mess up cause for somereason I though 62/45 was reckless but I had a 66/45.

Yeah, fuck a lawyer. Pay the ticket. It's not as serious as i thought.
