BTW, one thing I forgot to mention, see if you can find out who the judge is. If Killilea is on vacation that day, you might end up with Zepkin. If you do end up with Zepkin, you're going to want an attorney because he is basically a CLE course for police officers.

OP, you'd be a fool to not get an attorney.

Tell the judge you don't have to obey the white man's laws

I know many people that have gone without lawyers on reckless tickets. But I want to have the best chance without having a lawyer.

Like I again, I don't have court till the end of January and what I had was what I put together while sitting on the shitter distracted from studying for exams.
Are you going to do the driver's improvement class off Longhill Rd? I'm going to be signing up for one of them soon, that one seems convenient.

You'll probably get Judge Killilea in district. If you do, I wouldn't make that statement. I think she convicts too readily. On the other hand, I like her because she really does give you your day in court. From what I have seen she doesn't like excuses. If you tell her you couldn't look at your speedo in that situation, she will think "he has no business driving if he can't tell the difference between 78mph and 55mph" She may even tell you so.
She does like:
Being not only kind and polite but also proper - e.g. dressing well and addressing her as Your Honor
Taking your lumps
The cop telling her you were polite and cooperative
A clean driving record

Quite frankly, you'll prob get convicted anyways in district, so try whatever you want, then hire a lawyer for circuit (when you go to the cashier on your way out of the courtroom, tell her you want to appeal and she'll give you the forms). I like the Greek defense attorney we have here in Williamsburg, but I forget his name. If I think of it, I'll let you know.
I know who Killilea is... I've got Tommy Norment as my lawyer, he's a good lawyer, has got me out of 2 other things. But I don't want to have to pay $400 again, because frankly I don't want to pay $400 again like I did before. Plus is their any way I can find out what judge I'll have? I'll be in General District (Traffic) In York County 1/26/09 at 11:00

Oh, this was in York? Nevermind lol. I saw 199 and that you're in Williamsburg and glossed over what you wrote, assuming Williamsburg/JCC. York is McGinty, don't think they sub out there much.

Dude...Norment? Bringing a sledge hammer to pound 10 penny nails? Then again, $400 is damn reasonable for a reckless ticket. Then again, he's got enough sources of income going that it's not like it matters.
