im not taking over that starbucks meeting at all, some vcu people dont even know that stuff exists, just an attempt to see who is interested and a decent location to do so. No one talks shit or burns out, just some good car talk there its nice and I would like it to stay that way.

Hey guys I'm fairly new here. Getting to the point. My name is Richard and I was the president of COMMONWEALTH CARS for the last two year that it existed. I had a RSX and changed to a G35 in my second year as a member. We had alot of fun hanging out as a group having cook outs, track days, GT competition on the PS2, and meets on Fridays and Sundays in the Engineering School Lot before the new buld was built. Just like you guys thats starting out the club at VCU we were really serious about this when it first started. Budget plans, car show plans, and go kart plans in the parking decks just like you guys. We thought Tokyo Drift jacked our idea cuz we thought we came up with it. Main reason the club failed was because of the lack of sponsorship. VCU didn't fork out anything for us, everywhere we go and everything that we do had to come out of our pockets. Before anything was done it has to be approved by school such as car shows and stuff. Plus, all of us are getting old and started to have jobs so people stopped showing up. Thats pretty much it...I hope things have changed for the better and good luck to you guys.

Wait wait wait...what does VCU giving you anything have to do with a car club? I don't think it works like Mommy and Daddy.

the only thing we need from VCU is permission to close off and run go-karts in one of their parking decks
we could make it a charity event

Yeah? And your point is?
No it does not work like your mom and dad. You must have great parents if they are funding for you social activities. We had track days and it gets to be expensive. Everything was funded from our own pockets from club stickers to t-shirts. MOST IMPORTANT POINT I'M MAKING HERE IS THAT "WE WERE COLLEGE STUDENTS AND DIDN'T HAVE ANY MONEY TO PAY FOR OTHER PEOPLE TRACK RUNS". Once you get to a certain point people just started dropping out. You're right it didn't matter if VCU put up the money for us or not. We made the effort to apply since every other club is getting funded by VCU during the time. MY POINT is that you should wait til u start wanting to do more activities than meeting in the parking lot to talk about the same waste gate that you installed last week with the same people that you talked to last week about the same waste gate. If you read my paragraph correctly I stated more reasons why the club failed than just us not getting funded by VCU. I said "funding" was one of the reason why the club failed. We also did not get any approval for any of our activities and it was hard for us to find a mentor to make it VCU official. Also club meetings are held every now and than which needs to be attended to make the club official. Last time I checked bro money doesn't grow on trees and I hope you're pitching in on renting thoes go karts at the club events and I'll come support for sure. If you got any more comments please post...but please read and make sense of what I wrote. thanks!

PS. Grow up!
