Haha. That's exactly what I'm doing. Work at NG, live at home, and just help with rent/bills.

I don't believe George Whitte(sp?) is running the co-op program anymore. When i interviewed over the spring, a lady named Evelyn was in charge and she mentioned that she just took over and the reason why my app took so long was because of all the changes they were going through.. but it really sounds like its always been like that haha.

on the job, you really dont do any hand calculation other than some basic arithmetic and sometimes trig to find an angle or a length of something. They have calculators that perform all the calculations necessary for your job.. in the dept i was working in atleast. I would assume its like that everywhere.

What if one to get a MEME, how would they look at that? I know there would be a salary bump and replaces 2 years of exp, but I'm wondering if it open doors for more research type positions? I'm thinking about doing a 1-2 class per sem 4 year plan heh.

No salary bump for a graduate degree. You're just look at more highly when promotion time comes around. To become a supervisor now, its a really good idea to have one.

When you are hired on, sure.

When you get your degree while you are there, no.

i asked about that also. Siyani in HR said the difference in percentage would be adjusted. Do you know someone who never got compensation for a MS degree?

that is weird. One of them is wrong obviously lol.

The HR guy I was talking to sounded like he knew how it all worked. The reason I say that is because I asked if I got my MS in a few years, if my salary would be increased by $6k/yr (64k-58k=6k). He told me it is adjusted by the difference in percentage of whatever the rate is then, and my years would be accounted for as well.

Maybe what you were told is pertaining to MS ENMA specifically? I dont know.
