Forget going somewhere, let's talk about turning. The Mustang is tossable compared to a Camaro. This bigger and bigger wheels and larger and larger brakes (necessitated by the heavier and heavier cars and bigger and bigger wheels) are making car handle horribly.

You can blame the added weight on safety and the desires of the general public for more gizmoses in their cars. I can only think of one car, the 370Z, that is lighter than the previous model. So much research is going into making the cars more effiecent engine wise but it seems like nothing is being done about the weight.

Sorry, I can't blame the weight of a Camaro/Charger/Challenger/whatever on the added safety features and gizmos. They're HUGE cars, not small cars that weigh too much.

They're big, but they could also make more use of high strength steel and aluminum panels instead of mild steel. Also, Iron blocks, powdered metal rods, what year is this?

Then they'd be overpriced for their target market, and would really get slaughtered by cars with better performance in the higher price range.

what's wrong with an iron block?

And I want real facts, not just "it's old".

The 2010 camaro is within 1" of the overall length of a 2001 camaro. They are also within a inch in width and a couple in height. So why does a 2010 weigh 400 lbs more than a 2001?
