Miata + Hayabusa = Duscuss!
well...

"Even better, the 'Busa's little bundle of power is a bantamweight 135 lbs. That's less than half the weight of a Miata engine. With the proper application of weight weeniedom, we're confident we can drag the Miatabusa's curb weight down to 2,000 pounds. That's Lotus Elise power, Lotus Elise weight, and even a slightly Lotus Eliseish rear weight bias, all at much less than Lotus Elise prices."

I don't think that more HP is the goal. I think they're going for an all around better car.
I think the point is that you're shaving off hundreds of lbs and in the process attaining a better weight balance.
That or they're just aiming for bragging rights.
whatever the reason I have to admit, they earn plenty of cool points for engineering.

turbo kit for miata price< hayabusa swap price. if you want to do something cool with a hayabusa motor put it on a go cart. there's power to weight ratio. just seems more practical. im with jarret, and the rest of this forum.
