Yeah new BMWs are not as reliable as they should be, which is why a lot of people lease rather than buy. I'll go back to my first post in this thread and suggest checking out the used car market.

truly the only thing i dread about this car. a recent fuel pump and software upgrade appears to have fixed the issue for some....but not all. its never a good sign when BMW sends you a letter stating that your fuel pump is now warrantied for 10 years/100,000 miles.

The new hardtop versions are slick. I'd drive it.

At least they stepped up to the plate instead of completely ignoring the obvious problems.

It was their first all-woman designed car. Notice how it gained hundreds of pounds.

My gut feeling is once the E9x's are mostly out of warranty, the aftermarket will remedy the common failures. No signs of this happening yet unfortunately.

Point is that it shouldn't have happened in the first place, BMW spend millions of dollars on cupholder R&D and they can't fix a freakin fuel pump so that it will last longer than a year? I'm not crazy about BMW's direction as of late, not only are they going for luxury more than driving dynamics but build quality is now suffering as well.

Did you just record things I've been saying since 2003 and decide to start saying them 7 years later? We think alike.

Bosch has REALLY gone down the crapper. They've been screwing MB over left and right. The stuff they sell under their own name is complete crap now. Buy 12 bosch fuel injectors to get 8 good ones. Buy 8 MB branded Bosch fuel injectors to get 8 good ones.
