first off, it probably feels that way b/c as you said you "need" tires. On the street, most riding is done pretty upright, so the tire tends to wear a bit "squared" (more in the middle, less on the sides) so when it's really worn, yeah, it'll handle like a truck.

beyond that, a 180 will go on that rear just fine, if you feel the need.

I had a 180 on the rear of my r1 and now I have a 190 on my zx10. I am going back to a 180 just because I feel more comfortable on it, don't ask me why cause I don't know. I just feel more comfortable on a 180 than a 190.

yes. he took it to a ducati dealership(redline, my work). and he is running the stock 190/50/17 120/70/17 pliot power that came oem on that bike..

his tires are supersuper bald. they need to be replaced. and that bike came with a 190.. thanxs

edit: and his tires were flat. run the tires that where called for that bike(190/50.120/70), it will ride fine... just my 2cent

as much as it pains me to do so (kidding Stock, just kidding), I'm gonna have to agree. It probably turned like crap b/c the tires were worn to hell, not b/c of the tire size. Throw a new 190 on it that's actually round and not flat in the middle, and it'll be night and day.

but... a 180 will fit fine....if he really felt the need for whatever reason.

I find that alot of people don't know that their tires are under inflated... You would be EXTREMELY surprised how much of a difference that makes when handling a bike. It is like night and day when your tires are properly inflated.

That is just food for thought. Not saying it is the case... just sayin...

Very true. My rear wheel had a small bend that leaked a little and I could always tell when it was time to check it lol.

Thanks I actually didn't know it was under inflated at all, I mean, I put 3 thousand miles on it in the first month that I had it and I was in the process if getting a shop here in lynchburg to order a set for me when the deer thing happened. Its not that I don't trust you guys at all I just knew my bike wasn't where I wanted it to be and asked for advice.

Looking forward to getting her back soon..

*edit* I'm not dumb I knew I needed tires, and also I was in no way saying anything bad about your shop when i posted...thanks for your help man.

You didn't check your pressures to begin with lol? I check mine every few days and always try to keep them around street pressure. You can usually check the tire manufacturer's site for recommended psi.
