i tried playing in the snow, made it about 4 feet, and got stuck, got out, and i was plowing snow. i did fine in the lighter stuff last week, and once i get out off my street id be fine, but its easily a foot deep, and not a single person has driven on it.
why would a clutch plate the size of a cam gear be better?
I'm assuming it's to minimize overall mass,and keep as much mass as close to the center as possible.Of course,the smaller you go in diameter,the less contact area you have for a given number of disc(s),so it's either increase plate surface area with more plates and/or increase pressure plate clamping force to hold the desired HPzzzz.At some point it's got to be diminishing returns.......It looks like he found it.
