You are correct: By and large, Boxsters are unequivocally dook, particularly the early cars. However the Boxster Spyder is a fantastic car in every respect. It's a completely different driving experience and is a bitchin' little car.
I like the Bugster because it takes two unattractive models and homogenizes them into something greater than the sum of its parts. If someone offered to let me drive me a Beetle of that vintage, I'd decline. If someone offered me a Boxster, I'd decline. If offered the Bugster, I'd jump at the chance.
