Honda Ruckus / Scooter Thread
I just got pulled over by two motorcycle cops...
I have no idea why they pulled me over, but he made me get off the scooter so he could check it out, lol...
They seemed like ok dudes, they warned me not to ever go over 35mph, 'cause it's like 4 ticket and a big hassle.
One of them told me that you can't ride a moped on roads that have posted speed limits over 35mph
That's the first I've heard of that, pretty sure that's not true.

No no no... he said I couldn't drive on any road with a posted speed limit over 35mph... I already know that I can't legally go over 35mph in VA.

Actually its very true, VA State Law & VA DMV says that if your moped or motorized scooter exceeds 35MPH it must be registered as a motorcycle to be able to ride on roads with posted speed limits over 35.
He means the part about NOT BEING ALLOWED TO RIDE ON STREETS WITH A POSTED SPEED LIMIT ABOVE 35. The law is actually 45mph posted. Unless your locality is different from mine. Henrico follows state law with only one addition. You must have eye protection (goggles/safety glasses/face shield)
SN; "Animal transportation" isn't allowed on anything posted above 30mph. Just thought I'd throw that in there.
EDIT: I'm looking for where I read the 45 mph thing.
EDIT AGAIN:
Cant find the OG link, but it links to this law at the end of the paragraph:
http://leg1.state.va.us/cgi-bin/legp...0+cod+46.2-877
Has something to do with not impeding traffic. 15mph below is considered impeding traffic in Henrico. Can't vouch for ya'lls area.
