Project Classic Datsun: 1966 Datsun Roadster (1600) Restoration Progress
Hey thanks for the kick in the ass! Yes, there has been a little progress on it. I need to take some new pictures though. Most of the exterior is installed, heater core and blower motor installed, door seals and trim installed, carpet installed, dash is being powder coated atm, and waiting on a few parts to get back from the chromer. Carbs are also out being rebuilt. Hopefully it will be back together shortly!
Also, I decided to retrofit Z32 front brakes since the factory calipers are shot and are $$$ to rebuild. Here's what it'll look like:

Keep up the good work.
Plans changed a little. I ended up going with the stock brakes, it really came down to cost. That and the only reason in the world to put z32 brakes on is for looks. The oem brakes are dual piston and work very well. So at the cost of just the brackets for the Z32 set up I was able to completely redo the factory units. This leaves extra money for other parts which gets me to the finish line faster!! haha
Picks up hand drime quicker. But you can get some really cool colors, would designs out of that process. My old neighbor that just moved used to be a wood worksman and made us all kinds of random stuff. Still have a longboard made out of strips of african something or another. Never mounted trucks on it...too beautiful.

I threw on these headlights because neither one of my cars came with them.. they are ok, I have mixed feelings about them.. haha

I was unhappy with how the dash came out with the spray texture paint it was too spotty, so I have it powder coated:

Next is the brake rebuild, which was quite simple:

Painted and new pistons installed:

Line cleaned up:

Both mostly finished:

Also, I installed my new side trim that he refurbed before he shipped it out!! It looks like new:
