Silly DSM Noob
I'm already prepared for the ass rape i'm about to get from you fags. But on a more serious note.......
I have a 1990 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD with a long list of work done. I wont lie I bought the car from a friend who did all of the work to it. After 2 weeks of driving it I killed a fucking Quarter Master twin disc clutch, I replaced it but in that process I mangaged to skip a few teeth on the timing while torquing down the flywheel, with myself not aware i began to start the car, 2 attempts later i knew something was wrong. Turns out i broke 7 intake valves and they turned into bouncing beans destroying the top of my pistons. I've learned from my mistakes and now know what I got myself into when buying a DSM. I was wondering if I could get some help from some seasoned DSMrs in the area with general questions and tips. I need to get some machine work done on the head, due to my fucking noobness and stupidity. Also looking for a reputable shop that has a good amount of time and knowledge working with 4g63s. Any help with my project would be greatly appreciated.
And the piece of squeeze......

Only advice/tip I can give you is to know what you are doing before you do it. DSM's are one of the easiest cars to work on and there is more information out there on how to work on them, so ignorance is no excuse.
In the mean time, unless there is something special done to that head, you can find a replacement online from someone for cheap. The standard 6-bolt head flows plenty, so I can't image that head you have being anything special. Might be easier to look around on a DSM forum.

^ what he said. Luckily there's quite a few knowledgeable dsmer's in the area and on this forum. Keep an eye on the classifieds on the dsmtuners, you can scoop up a bare head pretty cheap if you want to build it or find a good deal on a stocker. Too bad sovadsm isn't around anymore...
One of the guys at Ptuning has a pretty nasty 2g and knows his way around the 4g63, but I'd seek help from a local first. But I'll let them chime in

After taking the bitch apart 3 times now, i can put it back together without help from my hooligan mechanic friends. My vehicle history was awd lowered cr-v, and b20v eg hatch. I know a good amount about honda's and the all the fanboy shit. I bought the car knowing little about dsms but after spending hours at work on dsmtuners and dsmtalk I've learned a lot and surprisingly everyone has been really helpful.
As far as work done, its no stupid fucking chent cold air intake, bov and ebay fmic. The block is .20 over with 8.5:1 wiseco pistons, and i just purchased 8.3:1 ross pistons from STM to replace the trashed ones. As far as the head, i picked up another bare head and am looking to get everything swapped over and some slight machining done for the 1mm oversized valves. The head has a stock intake manifold with BC 280 e/i cams, BC valve springs and retainers, and i just purchased the black nitrate coated 1mm oversized valves along with guides and stems from MachV.

STM, ExtremePSI, and JNZ Tuning are all good vendors to get stuff from. I would get stiffer springs than BC's though...I've heard they aren't much stiffer than stock. Kiggly beehives were the way to go when I had my DSM, although I had supertech dual valve springs with BC280s in my head and they got the job done just fine. You will love the lope at idle with the 280s....
Try and scoop up a JMF intake manifold if you can, you will get a noticeable increase in power matched with those cams...well I'm assuming you're running something larger than a 16g

Intake mani. is next on my money pit list, as far as throttle bodies go, how big? I've heard people running mustang throttle bodies. And your assumption on the turbo is correct my friend.
The 1g non-turbo throttle body is the largest OEM at 63mm if I remember right, followed by the 1g turbo at 60mm and 2g turbo at 57mm. I would get whatever matches the inlet of the intake manifold you plan on using...I'm not sure if JMF offers their IM to mate with the mustang TB but maybe they do...but then it's not exactly a bolt in part like an OEM TB would be. I ran a 1g turbo TB with a ported 1g manifold and the TB definitely was not a restriction. PM snowboarder, the moderator on dsmtuners, he offers completely rebuilt TBs and can port them too if you like. I think mine ran me $120, but it was basically a brand new TB.
