I was eyeing those the other day... I'm just nervous about getting a Chinese GY6 because I commute on my Ruckus. I don't want to get stranded somewhere with a busted engine.

I'm pretty sure all GY6's are chinese/taiwanese/kenny-ese
i love e30 bc of yur car lol. yeah i do want to do it. talk to the dealership they dont sell the shim. so we have to take it apart, measure, order n wait. gonna take like 2 weeks off the ruckus. i might wait for it. damn i suck at performance stuff
The dealer ship has the shims in stock, they have to. Which one did you call? It is the same shim as a CBR which they have to have in stock for tuning.
The GY6 isn't that much of a unreliable engine. Why would so many people be swapping them on if they were?
I don't imagine most people that go GY6 are daily driving the shit out of them... I could be wrong... I hope I am, a little more torque would be pretty dope.
Southwade- That is something I am not to sure about, however there are a bunch of people that daily them after they get a DUI. Although this is still a question i am looking for some answers on before I make a final decision, because once I get mine swapped it will go back to being my daily.
FO- That is still a debatable fact, no one seems to be able to find a old GY6 Honda scooter so no one knows for sure. I haven't looked into this either so this is just what I remember reading when scanning the TR swap forum.
