Tattrat- A advantage of registering the ruckus is that you would legally be allowed to drive over 35mph, and legally make it over 49cc if you wished.

FilipinoMafia- I would think that a "Custom" bike would allow you to register anything you wanted, regardless of vin. However this is logical thinking, and we all know how normal trains of thought don't apply to Virginia DMV.

You are legally allowed to ride on any road regardless of the speed limit as long as the road is not considered a State Highway. And technically you are not supposed to go over 35mph to still fall under the law. (Give me a few I am going to find the law real quick).

And yes you can insure the a ruckus, I believe Southwade has it. I called about getting mine insured and it was going to cost me 100 for a year.

Yep. You can get insurance even if it ISN'T registered. Mine was $300 for the year regardless.
My Met is covered under my property insurance.

Dont waste your time, we've posted it 6-7 times in this thread and even on the previous page.

Tittyrat just meant advantages IF it still fell under the "moped" law/guidlines

And your right, but if you travel more than 10mph under the limit you can be sited. Hell they can site you for 5 under if they feel you are impeding.

But then you would also be required to carry an M Class too.

In Cali you have to register as a MC and the Ruckus is classified under MC and not Moped.

And if they wanted to they could measure from the ground to my lowered seat frame and determine that my ruckus no longer a moped.

If a cop is having a bad day or you did something dumb he/she could very easily get you for something.

TATTRAT- This is true, just saves you that hassle of ever getting pulled over and getting slapped with a no license, no registration, and no insurance tickets if ever get caught going over 35mph.

.... not if your riding it and you hit someone else. Even if it did, it won't cover what you hit.

Must people don't. Think about it-

The vin says it's a 50cc, dont exceed 35 mph. Cops wont stop you unless your breaking the law.
