My cruiser is fun on the highway and in the curves, so I dont mind taken the highway if it gets me to some place fun. We took the highway/fastest way back to get home from some of those rides I listed. Most of those trips we left at 4-5am and got back home 8-9pm, plus last year I did a sore saddle 1000 (vb to key west in 21 hours) so I dont mind a long haul either. I will look into Remington and Shennandoah.

 

The road out to Bedford/smith mountain lake is Beautiful. And so is the ride from Lynchburg to Woodbridge via 15

 

not so much at night. haha.

if you're going out to shennandoah... pay the $10 and ride skyline drive.

 

 

 

Last year I did a multiday trip out to the dragon/gatlinburg area/smnp and then took the blueridge parkway up to skyline and went home 17

i has concern for fellow cyclists. i parked my bike out front of the school building i was at just now (till 4am) and around 2am the security guard told me some dude hopped out of a truck, ran to my bike, took a few pictures (with a camera, not cell phone) and ran back to the truck and left. this is downtown richmond mind you, and the bike wasn't on the street, it was right up on the building next to all the bike racks.

hopefully he didn't go through the shit under my seat and find my address and name on my registration. i'm scurred.
