I have over 2500 miles and a few track days in both cars (my brother owns an 06 sti) and gave my knowledge with some performance facts thrown in to the mix. Everything I said is true, and I was looking at it from more of a capability standpoint vs factory form.
*sigh* I dont need to watch some online videos to know that you and your post are both fucking stupid.

Streetracer actually is 100% right muncher, nothing he said was false. I have had 2 wrxs and an sti and they do not match the capability of what an evo can achieve. Guess what I sold my 05 sti for, u got it an 03 evo and it has been the best choice I have made. I have consistently ran better lap times than c6 z06 and srt10 vipers at VIR with less than $2500 total in mods, Nuff said.

You have 3 posts in 4 months.

Anything said is thus deemed irrelevant

post counts mean nothing especially since the rep system came out...half the posts are "will rep in 24" "must spread rep" "+rep" (without actually delivering rep)

I would like to see this guy lapping some corvettes and vipers though lol. Not sure if he is serious?

Personally I decided on evo's because I liked the performance you could get with bolt ons and the looks. I test drove an sti first and thought it was great and probably a better daily driver. Either one is a lot of fun and I doubt the OP ended up with either since that's how these threads usually turn out.

I can email u copys of my times I have logged on vir main and copys of my buddies viper and vette as well. I never lapped them, just ran consistanly a few tenths to a sec or more on both cars. I just bought a camera I'm going to mount for my next track day and will post video's.

Can we please compare the sti vs evo not the evo vs wrx.

Also, not every one tracks their car, nor are they looking for 500hp.... Some enjoy a well set up factory car that they can have fun in, not work on

Mk Fine.

First off ^this shit right here^ is fucking laughable and you have it completely backwards. The Evos tranny is fucking garbage. The local shops around here are littered with them with broken trannys/cases ect. This is common knowlege, and most Evo owners that are aren't fucking retarted will even attest to this. Hell...its been said MULITPLE times in this thread alone by mitu and subaru owners both. I believe you are confusing the STI with the WRX. WRX tranny = garbage. STI tranny = one of the stongest AWD cases you can buy. For an example see post 33 in this thread.

The evo can make 400whp+ reliably with simple bolt ons and stock turbo and run low 11's-high 10's. I'm still on completely stock block, trans, transfer case, and diffs making over 500 whp reliably on street gas, that is an imposable goal for any sti ( or Subaru) ever built.
Again. Laughable. If it were impossible then Nasioc wouldn't be full of cars that have done that very thing. Try doing a bit of research before spouting off bullshit "facts".

Oh and hadling...Evo also holds more time attack records world-wide that any other 4door car ever made. Read or watch any review between the two and 9/10 the evo has won and been the benchmark many years in all countries and will be for years to come.
More factless bullshit ranting. P.S. they stopped development of the EVO. So much for your "benchmark for years to come"

I'm all for having opinions, but almost nothing in your post was factual. There are perks to both cars. Evo's make a tad bit more power in stock form and are cheap to buy but its shabby build quality and the fact that most people will be putting a tranny in the car completely overshadows that. Also...I highly doubt anyone in this thread is out to set "world-wide Time Attack records."

Against people in the beginner group.

I'm willing to bet that if we take Cobra4bs best lap in his C5Z06 vs you, you're more then a "couple of tenths" behind

Being a previous evo owner, my first major spending was to be a shep tranny. Why? because the stock tranny sucked. I can't tell you how many probs I had with 2nd gear lockout, grinding and all types of shit. I had to put BG synchro shift in it just for it to act right. The tranny was the only gripe I had about the car, but it was a huge gripe. I loved the hell out of it though and would still buy one over an STI. But that's just personal preference because I think they look/sound better. I'm not a fan of the boxer sound.
