Either way... I'll be in Texas in a few months and that's when I plan on buying a truck since you can get them for thousands cheaper down there

I'm going to drive a duramax, cummins, and maybe even an 08+ powerstroke and see what I like better

So a little update on my 03 TJ build (it's a slow build)

Get you up to speed if you don't remember, I traded my YJ project for a wrecked TJ (front end collision). I have another frame for a TJ that came with the tub. Got almost all interior except seats an HVAC controls. I have a 79 Ford Dana 60 Front axle and a Dana 70 rear axle. I've got a 4.0 out of a 2003 TJ and a NV3550 5spd trans. This TJ was an automatic TJ when it was running.

So new stuff. I bought a 97 TJ wrecked tub for various parts I was missing on my tub including brake setup including lines, fuel lines, windshield wiper motor and arms, various odds and end pieces. I also have the complete 97 dash minus gauge cluster, but does have all wiring. I stripped everything down and will be scrapping the metal for money. The 97 wiring won't work in the 2003 from what I've read because of the OBD2 vs OBD ver 2 but when the 03 was taken apart to part out the shop that did it pulled wires, cut wires, etc so I do have extra wiring to rebuild the tub harness. The 97 tub also came with gas tank and fuel pump but I'll likely not be using this because I'm stretching the rear wheel base.

I've been going back an forth on keeping this a 5spd or going automatic. The shop I got the TJ from has a 99 AW4 auto trans from a XJ he is willing to trade for my nv3550 trans. I'll probably go this route to keep the TJ auto. My 01 Yellow TJ has the nv3550 5spd trans and I think I'll have one manual and one auto.

I'm starting to get the itch to start working on this project and have the body separated from the frame and will be stripping the frame down or unnecessary brackets, removing any surface rust and finally respraying the frame. This is basically a frame up restoration but thrown in with one ton axles and big tires, custom suspension, custom steerings, etc to make it all work. Will be redoing all wiring as well to make sure nothing was damaged to cause issues down the road.

Maybe I'll take pics during the process I'd rather be working then snapping pictures
