LOLOL. it looks even better when you have skinny jeans and a beanie half way off your head
lol. that is the second best "bang for my buck" i'm really worried about the clutch and vanos. any additional information on the two "major" issues
M5 is def dope, i really don't want a 6 speed.
everything i've read about the XJR has been pretty decent. they aren't as problematic as people think they are. the only thing i've really read about them is the electrical systems are pretty bad. but i'm a vw owner, so i'm experienced in terrible electrical systems. As far as mechanically, they are pretty damn good, the transmissions are near bullet proof, the motors are great, and for 7k i can get one with 80k on the clock. 370 hp, and very luxurious, seems like the best bang for the buck honestly. and if i were to get the jag, i could keep my daily. so i really don't see it being an issue, as the jag would be in my garage for most of the year.

Mine was an auto, so I don't have any clutch problems. Fwiw in my ~4 years on the 5 series forums I've never seen a clutch issue. Vanos is mote common on the I6 models, but still is pretty rare. The biggest issue is cooling system failure, fan clutch, leaking valve cover gaskets and other smaller stuff. If you get one that was owned by someone who had half a brain and fixed things when they needed to be, maint is almost a non issue. I probably have spent 500/year in maint or so, with me doing the work.
Every 5 series owner ive known has only had Cooling issues. Thats it.
Any Mercedes made from '02-'06 or so had massive electrical problems. IIRC they outsourced the electrical components to a shitty 3rd party.
Now it seems to be either hit or miss...either you get one that has tons of problems, or one that has zero, so check the maintenance history.
Also fwiw, I used to work at checkered flag bmw. 3 of the techs there were former techs at the MB dealership down the street. All 3 said Mercedes were steaming piles of dung, and that BMWs were hands down the better built car.
