I hopped out of my truck the other day to see this cop car hanging half way out of a space and the dude yabbing away on his cellphone so I pulled out my phone to take a picture. He got all upset and jumped out of his car and was all like "WHAT THE FUCK are you doing?" I was all like, "Taking a picture of your suckass park job so a few friends and I can get a good laugh at it later, why?" He was like, "YOU CAN'T TAKE A PICTURE OF A POLICE OFFICER." I was like, "Correction sir, you are a 'public safety officer,' key word here being; PUBLIC."

He got mad.

So then later that day, this;



What the fuck? Harassment?

They already do, it's what happens when you have family on the force...

I've gotten tickets for a license plate bulb being out, a factory tow ball mounted on the factory cutout on my bumper, bumper height (measured to the top of my bumper), frame height (measured to the top of the frame), tires sticking out 3/4" UNDER the legal limit and one for failing to provide my driver's license in a reasonable amount of time (I couldn't fucking find it in my travel bag). All of which were dropped in court except for two speeding tickets, one was 3mph over.

Word of advice and I speak from experience. DOCUMENT DOCUMENT DOCUMENT.

I'll say it again, document every encounter you have with the police, date, time, officer, offense, witness/passenger, reason for being pulled over etc. KEEP A LOG BOOK IN YOUR VEHICLE AT ALL TIMES, in my car its important I have these 3 first aide kit, log book, handgun.

I got pulled over 12 times in one week while I lived in Ashland, for "tail lights" yet they were in operating condition, none burned out.

On the 12th traffic stop and final traffic stop, for my "tail lights" I simply handed them my attorneys business card and told them "write me a ticket or put me in jail, cause im not answering any questions, or talking to you"

That following Monday morning my attorney filed papers against Ashland Police dept for harassment..And from there well, I never got fucked with ever again and did pretty much whatever the fuck I wanted.

Documentation is key, its their word against yours.

 

I do try to, I have every single previous ticket written to me stashed in a safe place. It's almost kindof pitiful to me that they have been trying so hard to 'bend' for lack of better terms, the traffic code to cite me. Like the bumper and frame law states something along the lines of; X amount of inches "To the lower most part" ... they measured to the top?

But I definitely will take your advice into consideration, I wish I could afford some sort of legal advisor but my new girlfriend is just so damn expensive...
