Sold my car, got my first bike! (Dual sport content inside)
Hey guys, about a month ago I sold my beater Accord and started the hunt for a bike. A couple of days ago I pulled the trigger on this 94 Honda XR650L. I am already in love with it! My plan is to ride it daily and eventually get some 17 inch wheels and supermoto it. It's been a couple years since I've ridden a bike but it's all coming back, I couldn't be happier!

Welcome. Nothing better than a street legal dirt bike. I've got a CRF450x and 250R both plated. Love em to death. My suggestion would be to find some local trails, throw on some Knobbies and enjoy it the way it's meant to be used. Head west to the national forest and the forest roads. Check out things like the Shenandoah500 and ADVrider.com.
I had an XRL also by the way, great bike.

I've done some mods to the bike (desmogged, 55/158 up sized jets, exhaust debaffle, removed airbox snorkel) and all I can say is WOW! I can't believe they didn't come this way stock. The bike is substantially smoother and more powerful in the low and midrange. I'm even more in love with the bike now, I'm so happy with my decision. Anybody unsure of what type of first bike they want, get a dual sport; you won't regret it!
