Yeah, it was packed last night, and today at the funeral was just as packed, if not more so.

call autozone in Salem and ask for Patrick or PM white-lightning on here. he's the resident Focus/Escort/ZX2/(and other random assorted Mazda stuff) expert.

I know on some of the ford stuff with different brackets, i've had to use a pry bar to get them loose, then they usually go back pretty easy.

A good stout long screw driver or pry bar will help. Those things tend to get seized pretty good even on the sohc engines where they are up top are a pain to remove.

Most alt's now days have a sleeve that the bolt threads into. When you tighten the bolt it pulls the sleeve up against the bracket surface and makes everything more secure. Does make it more difficult to get off, and if you're installing a used unit or putting the same back on, it helps to use a socket and a bolt to pull the sleeve back the otherway a tad. Will make it fall right on.

But yes, prying device is your friend.

On the Porsche's you have to drive that sleeve back some before you can even remove the alt, as you have to rotate it around a bit to clear the intake manifold and such, tons of fun!

Hey guys, i just stumbled across this and wanted to pass it along. CSL replica wheels for $80 bucks a piece and will fit most BMWs, obviously they are cheapo wheels but the price is still pretty amazing. I think i may pick a set up and powder coat them or something just to try a different look.
