I had an issue with my R6 after a recall service, they failed to adjust the shifter correctly after removing it to get to the drive sprocket. I called them and explained that I couldn't shift past neutral and they said bring it in we'll take a look at it and I got a call a day later saying it was ready they made a mistake and didn't adjust the shifter after the previous work and apologized. Over the phone they tried to say it could be anything and said I could take it back but if it was unrelated to the service then I'd be responsible for the labor involved.

Once it was done they fixed it and I was back on the road good to go. I didn't get a direct apology but I was content for the most part. I've spent quite a bit of money with them with parts and gear for my bikes. Which is why I didn't want to burn bridges (parts department gives me a discount).

I'd avoid getting upset till they start giving you problems. if they try to blame you or pass the bill on to you then push. until then be civil and politely assertive. From working with the service department at a big car dealer, The crazy people get the cops, the meek get told to hit the bricks, the guy who is collected and assertive usually gets a financially reasonable resolution, and the guy who threatens a lawsuit gets eyes rolled at.
