RWD sports car or 4x4 pickup, up to $15,000
Name: Donny
Location: Suffolk
Means of contact: PM
Price: Up to $15,000
Description:
I'm looking to buy a half ton or larger truck, preferred Chevy/GMC 4x4, that can tow at least 8,000 lbs. Will entertain other American trucks, maybe even a latest gen Tundra. No duallies. No high mileage. I'm not interested in paying 10 grand for something with 225k miles like half the stuff on craigslist. Let me know what you have and thanks for looking.
I edited out the sports car part but I'd still entertain a boosted, v8 swapped miata or even a well taken care of naturally aspirated model. Must be '95 or newer and have torsen LSD. I just removed all other RWD sports cars from this listing.

They still haven't looked at it so I don't know yet. I'm sure everything is fine with it, one of the techs said it is pretty common occurrence in the cold, which makes sense since there were two other TDI's being towed in just at the same time as mine.
Still, I don't really care the reason, a 2012 model year car leaving me stranded is un-fucking-acceptable and I'm thoroughly pissed off about it. I'd say there's about a 10-20% chance of me keeping that thing.
Edit: Yeah, it wasn't as expensive as I thought but it was still over a grand and they still didn't stand behind it even though the warranty period is still going on. Fuck Volkswagen, never again. It is only going to get worse as the thing gets out of warranty in another thousand miles. I'm looking at a decent AP2 and I'll probably have it bought by the time I get off 12's at the end of the month.

That thing could donate it's engine to my Z
And for how many half tons are sold, there are surprisingly few decent ones for sale. I'm likely just going to end up strolling into a dealership at the end of the fiscal year and getting some steep discounts on a new one.

Yeah, this. I've found a couple good prospects but nothing that I've wanted to move on. I will say I'm mainly looking at Chevy and I'm amazed how many shitdicks think they can sell their last gen Silverados for either the same or a measly thousand or two less than the cost of just buying a new one (with incentives). I may just end up buying a new one. Apparently they don't depreciate.
No longer looking for cars but if the engine ever becomes available, I'm interested.
Bump for the thread in general. I'm looking in the low $20,000 range now and am considering taking on a loan. If anyone has any year 4x4 gas 2500HD or 3500HD with oh, lets say, sub-75k miles, I'm very interested. I'd also look at a last gen Silverado or Sierra half ton with low mileage. This quote still comes to mind...
