Im planning one out now for this cooper that's not mine but is always at my house. I'm taping off the general shape of the shark face and laying a plasti dip foundation and then hand painting over top of that. He'll be able to just peal the face off once he's tired of it.

 

That's not a bad idea. I figured most of my shit would be vinyls anyway and the actual paint job would be fairly basic. Probably get some pinups, kill markers, and the shark face as vinyls as a minimum. I haven't figured out how to do rivets but I definitely want to do those too.

This is all far in the future though. I got the trans stuck on the member that connects the front and rear subframe and ran out of time trying to pull the engine last. Everything was disconnected and I was fucking furious. Keith Tanner's book says you can just push it to the side but that wasn't working so I'm gonna have to remove it. Then get the new motor together and start getting everything back together. We really need a concrete pad at the house. I push the car back outside when I'm not working on it so the Z has a place to sleep, and that really slows down progress. Having a place to do a little each night without having to worry about moving it out again would be nice. Maybe I should just nut up and put the fucking Z outside more but having that out of the garage while some $400 shitbox is inside doesn't feel right to me.

 

kill markers? I saw a 100 pack of 2" Honda H's on eBay last year..... Or would that be stupid, like nazis buyin a pack of French flag kill decals......
