My first bike project
o mybe.. thought u were talking about preload adjustment.. i do have sum other ones that dont have preload adjustments on them
there isnt any older shocks out in this time frame(70s-early 80s) that meet you guys "adjustable" specs.. probly go with a newer style shock but will kill the looks on the bike and they arent cheap and is going take sumkind of prefabing... unless u shell out the money for new aftermarket units..
I am duh! But that doesn't mean i know everything instantly! I know a hell of alot more than an average rider and Hell i have ran into a lot of people that dont even know what the hell points are! BTW I'm not even sure what book to read I have read my shop manual....does that count?
if you change the lower mounts to a more standard eyelet arrangement, you can get all kinds of shocks in there. zrx1100/1200 shocks are NICE, and you can get them cheap on e-gay, but they mount with an eyelet top and bottom. i had a set on my xs650 cafe before i mono-shocked it.

ya i gave a 00 zx12 shock away before i moved.. they are nice..
i mounting the zx6 shock on the kz550 like on ur last pic... u have move the battery.. kinda tight once u do that
edit: u have anymore pics of under the seat?
edit: on the kaw's
if it was a direct hookup to the swinger, it'd have to be where the battery is, but with the linkage, and the shock thru the swingarm, it fit undernieth, but BARELY.
