It's been a while since I checked out their website. Absolutely sick. I'm not in the military, but I 100% support those that are. We definitely need to do something while they're here. Whoever is coordinating everything definitely should start a thread so we can get all the logistics organized. Also, didn't the Patriot Guard used to follow the WBC around and pretty much block off their protests and drown them with motorcycle exhaust? That always seemed awesome but I don't hear about it anymore. Anyhow, keep us posted.

They protest military funerals, saying that service members deserve to die, that its gods revenge for the war, allowing gays in the military, etc, etc, etc.
They also protested the VT shootings, saying those people deserved to die because of gays and whatever else.

Here's what I'm thinking, the one they have planned for the 1st needs to have a large turn out, hopefully discouraging them from doing any of the other. I know thats probably not realisitic cuz they are asshats. I would like to get as many people as possible there, with signs, air horns, pretty much anything that isn't going to get anyone arrested, or hurt. The state police/VBPD will be escorting these jackasses. I have been told that they bring film crews and such, as this is how they fund their operations. They intentionally provoke people into a physical confrontation, get it on video, and file lawsuits. Fundage they recieve from these lawsuits goes to their cause. So I'm asking, if you come out, please do not do let these assholes push you to the point of a physical confrontation.
I think with all the noise, signs, and just people in general, we can get to them. There isn't really a large amount of parking right in the general area, however, there is a shopping center a little farther down shore drive where everyone could park and meet, and get organized that afternoon. I'd really like to get enough people to surround them, with enough signs to block out their signage, making enough noise that noone will be able to hear their nonsense. So tell all your friends. I'm going to do some research on the parking lot, get in touch with VSP and find out just what exactly we can get away with. And do some PR work seeing if I can get some supplies and such donated. Whatever is left over can be passed on to someone who will be attending the next protest they have scheduled (I'd love to make all of them, but I leave the 3rd for a mini deployment).
I'd like to bump, that DO NOT EVEN TOUCH these people, even if they act as though they are going to take a swing at you. If they do, keep calm don't be a macho type and just generally keep your wits about you. I'm positive by reading what I have regarding this group of "fine" individuals, that they will likely go as far as making those that oppose them, believe that they are going to get hit, thus the opposing individual will likely make the first physical contact. DON'T put it past them.
While the "Why ya be foamin'" signs would be comical to say the least.. I think we should also fight fire with fire, assuming it does not go against your religious beliefs (or lack there of, it's your prerogative and my "lack there of" is NOT negative or derogatory, just fact right? if that be the case for you).
1 Peter 3:15 -- they're hardly spreading the word of god in a gentle and respectful manner (ie. "godhatesfags"), god does have a PERFECT hatred, though it is NOT the place of man to "hate" as we're not perfect.

1 Corinthians 6:11 -- we were washed of our sins through Christ.. however, because of these individuals going against the aforementioned two scriptures, they too are now sinners, thus hypocrites in their actions

Also, I believe if we are going to -organize- a protest against the WBC, we will need to obtain a permit, though I cannot find a clear and concise explanation of which permit we would need.

Is all I can find regarding permits of such nature (though not exactly what I was looking for). I haven't the time to do the research, though consider my name down on the list as well as whatever contribution is necessary to make our counter-protest/protest (whichever way you want to look at it I guess) completely legal.
Posts referring to killing them, jokingly or not, I would personally ask for you to cease and desist immediately and if you do care about our "counter-protest" as I believe I'll call it, please, edit your post removing such comments. I'm sure the 3rd Precinct is following this thread by now, so, it's difficult to demonstrate to them, regardless if indirectly, that we're serious about being as "professional" as the WBC in our "counter-protesting" if such threats are kept in the thread.
Furthermore, attendance would very likely be less than we would desire if those interested believe there will be loose cannons out there.
