haha thats almost 30 psi..

you lose psi because of your lack of exhaust backpressure and valve overlap..

but you still gain hp.. your just "flowing" better.. PSI isnt really a measurement of power at all

Yes, but I was talking worst case scenario, in reference to a stock supercharged platform that is about 14 years old. The stock exhaust set up for my platform is a travesty and the engineers behind it should be shot. Regardless it is the culprit for a ton of back pressure, and many blown headgaskets.

Heres a pic of the 90degree bend in the drivers side cat.....

yeah thats gotta be the biggest myth around i think....that boost is a direct measure of hp

i dunno if anybody mentioned it cause i didnt feel like readin through all the posts on this thread, but for some reason whenever people mention turbochargers someone always mentions lag right behind it. think about it alot of turbo kits can make full boost before 3k. whereas a centrifugal supercharger makes its peak boost at peak rpm, isnt that lag? when it comes down to it i believe that turbos are far superior to centrifugal superchargers on the street or in a race car. a single turbo kit can make just as much torque as any positive displacement supercharger with no load on the crank and no loss of power due to driving itself. and theres no belt to break for the turbo.

I have a question. I just got my new sports compact and they have a dyno of the new redline. It has a supercharged 2.0 ecotec. The torque only rings in at 169lbs at 12.5 psi of boost. Now I know that turbo’s make more torque then super charger but damn that seems like a low amount of torque for 12.5 psi of boost. Why is the torque so low?
