I worked there for 6 months in MOAT (homeowners sales) GEICO tosses you around and practically makes you bend over backwards. It has its ups and downs, but more downs than ups in my opinion.

It's kinda hit or miss with that place really, depends on who your supervisor is and if said department sticks to their wording. I got promised Auto damage, I got homeowners sales and a schedule that was ronchier than last weeks trash.

I just missed the boat on making a lot of money in their powersports department. Worked there for two years in Powersports Sales, and then crossed over and sold powersports, auto, and homeowners. My supervisor was fucking awesome as long as you produced. If you didn't produce you didn't get anything. Powersports is nothing like auto though...and the horror stories I've heard from the claims and service departments led me to leave the company. Not a whole lot of room for growth if you stay in sales. It's definitely not the worst job, and the economy taking a dump didn't help it, but I made good money and left on great terms should I need to go back.

Pros:
Decent paycheck
I didn't have horrible hours
Profit Sharing (never didn't get it)
Super easy to get approved for loans if you have any kind of credit

Cons:
Super easy to get loans if you have any credit, even on ridiculous shit
Calls are always on hold
They are meticulous with clocking in and out on time and staying on the phone. Most of the supervisors will not hesitate to send an email or stand up and call your name to get you back on the phone if you are unavailable.
Dealing with people who think they know what they are talking about, but have no fucking clue (both co-workers and clients)

If you get the job, and you pass your licensing test and then you don't like the job, you can take your license and go work for another insurance company.
