Well..you get the point.....

I have a b16 in my crx and im actually very satisfied with it..big step up from the d-series motors ive had. More torque and it pulls very very strong
LS/VTEC doesn't rev. The r/s ratio is too small for anything above 7K (7K being extreme). Also, the LS block doesn't have the necessary oil passages for a VTEC head (conversion kit). LS would be great for turbo, low RPM torque monster (for a Honda). Get the timing right on the cams, correct gearing for your RPM's and power.. then you will be having some fun.

If you want torque get a b18c (GSR or Type-R)... or a b17a1. The b17 has lower compression than the b16 but only due to the longer stroke (increase displacement; decrease compression) but that slight difference adds a bit more torque. Given the RIGHT gears it could be a nice set-up.

EX: 2,700lb Teg with a stock b17 pulls on a 2,600lb Civic Si b16 with mods.
