12-13 second s15
blah if i was gonna keep the ka and expected 13 second timeslips i'd take the time to build it so you have a fresh, reliable engine. theres a company that sells bored ka24(d)e blocks already built for around $2k. thats not a bad deal really. but if you want 13s that might be kinda overkill. it sounds like its gonna be daily driven and probably driven hard. do it right the first time
no need to build an SR...it'll handle 300rwhp for about 3 years daily driven. 300hp will get you mid 12's in an S14. i had 320rwhp at got down to 12.21@113. it'll handle 450rwhp stock for about a season of drag racing before needing a bore/hone. you need a profesional to tune if you want to do this on stock motor though.
for a KA, its a great motor for driveability. gobs of low end torque. can still be raced, but its not the best choice if all you want to do is go fast. but a simple KAT build with only forged pistons will handle 350rwhp. I've seen rods bend at 380rwhp.
piston and rod ka motor will handle 600rwhp easy if you can keep the head on. but all you need is pistons and you'll be happy in a KA with mid 12's at 15psi.

hahah you talking about the guy in NC, you probably also know Kyle who helped the guy find the car? thats Jay's old car. it ran 11.90 or something really high in the 11's. he did break 400rwhp i know that much.
btw, its not the fastest 240 on the east coast.......find one quicker than 11.39@119

So Greaser, if you want to boost the KA and keep the WHP to about 300 or so you should be fine with the stock KA engine? Correct? 300whp in a s14 should be 12sec capable with slicks I would think. That was my point. If all you want is 12's or low 13's why pull the stock engine and spend 2K on a swap.
yeah a stock KA motor will handle 300rwhp .....got a couple freinds with stock KA's with turbos and they are not the tweeking type of people. they slapped the turbo on there, the fuel system mods, and upped the boost. 300rwhp all day long.
