Buy the chain cleaning brush from cyclegear it looks like a big toothbrush with bristles on 3 seperate planes. The bristles clean both sides and the top of the chain. It works wonders believe me its worth all 15 bucks or whatever it costs and your chain will look brand new. And use kerosene to clean your chain its the best shit ever.

i wouldn't use kerosene on an o-ring or x-ring chain.

actually, kerosene isn't bad, it won't dry out the o-rings like some things (gasoline) will. just make sure to lube it up well when you're done.

I dont know. A guy that races told me to use gasoline and a tooth brush then lube it afterwards. I dont see how o rings will dry up if u lube them up right after wards. of course if you just clean it then let it dry then that wouldn't be to bright. I would think correct if wrong.

I would never risk gasoline on my chain--too much at stake. Gasoline on rubber is a bad idea to begin with IMO.

Just get a gallon jug and take it to a gas station and fill it up with Kerosene and your set.

yeah, what he said.

gasoline deteriorates rubber reeeal quick. it also makes the rubber swell and you risk losing the o-rings out of your chain.
