Cox Cable sucks now, is DSL better?
i like cox cable. i mean if you know how to work your network / opperating system and internet..... they really arent all that bad....
my biggest complaint is that they go down at least once a week.

cavalier's cheapest is 50 bucks... cause you have to get house phone service... or so the site says. do you have just the net or so you pay 50-60 a month for dsl?
Have you put in a service call? It's harsh to judge the company as a whole just because your service is having problems. The problem could be in the wiring from your tap to your groundblock, or even from the groundblock to your modem.
If you don't have it this way already, I suggest having a dedicated line from your groundblock to your modem. Each split is -3.5db or more, and the less signal equals more noise on your line. You may not notice the problem by looking at your TV's but modems are pretty sensitive if your cable is all jacked up.

You should schedule for a technician to come out. It costs nothing. Have them pull readings from the tap outside, and again behind your modem. Bad connectors, barrells, and splitters can cause all sorts of issues.
</3 cox, nothing but problems since we've had it.
Heres a list:
1.Random net drops for 1hour at a time almost nightly GUARANTEED.
2.Random net drops lasting 3-4 days with no support from them (They can't make it out until 5-6 days later most of the time and by then it's fine)
3.Tech support is a bunch of moron kids who tell you to "Reset your modem" and yes I am aware that fixes the problem SOMETIMES but they should have tech support a little more capable then that. I am perfectly aware of how to reset my cable modem, router, and how to check my splitters/connections.
4.Laggy internet for no reason whatsover (I am not computer illiterate and understand that it cannot be perfect all the time but I do know when there is a problem on the provider's behalf)
5.Bad splitters (provided "brand new" by cox to fix problems that end up not being fixed)
Basically overall i'm just not satisfied with the service and support they provide and am currently talking the parents into something better.
