Sweet, I wonder if that would work then...It should . Which ECU tuning program should I download and run on the laptop if I plan on flashing one of the maps from the CD I have onto the ECU itself?

what you guys are not taking into consideration is that you will have to ground a pin on that smaller plug next to the obd plug, in order to get the ecu into programming mode so that you can flash it.

I don't know if my car is different or not, but I just have a simple Ross-Tech/VagCom cable and it works just fine.

Yes, I have that little 'loop' circuit plug if thats what you're talking about. It plugs into a wire/socket near the OBDII port. In addition, there are two green plugs you leave apart, but connect together once you need to get the ECU into programming mode.

Is this what you're talking about?

If so, then yes i've got that stuff, I just need the right cable(s) - would ZeroCool's work or no?

Really in need of some help, I havent had much use for the car since its basically useless untill its tuned. I would take it up to D.C. and throw it on an AWD dyno and have them do it but I dont have the time to make the trip anytime soon...So I need a street tune for now.

Im willing to pay $$$ whoever can get it tuned back to how it was a few months ago.

You don't have to go all the way to DC

backs up my comments that unless you know how to do it, you shouldnt try.

the time you have spent trying to get it right is way longer than it would have been to simply pull the ECU, ship it off and have it flashed.

Are there any shops within 2 hours that can do street tunes. I've heard of a few shops in this area of VA but not sure how reputable they are and I forget the names of any.

Do any of you guys know if a good place I could go to in order to get a tune?

Thanks

Dunno if this helps, but my roommate is a well known tuner around the Richmond area. He usually does hondas but he's tuned wrx's, srt4s and other cars that I'm forgetting right now. Maybe you and him can work something out? I'm from Roanoke but going to school in Richmond so I can bring him down there one weekend to tune your setup. His info is in my sig.
