I don't know if this is a new law or not but I heard that illegal window tint is a "secondary offence" and Police officers CAN NOT pull you over just to check your tints. There has to be a good reason to pull you over FIRST then they can get you on the tints. No, i dont have proof, it is just what i HEARD. Correct me if i am wrong.

You may be right about this because when I got pulled back to back they pulled me over for my front plate, but then gave me a ticket for my Tint.

Is there such law that your license plate needs to be bolted down. because i got a ticket because i had my front license plate zip tied to my grill and a state trooper said it was fine but ffx police gave me a ticket for it not bein bolted.

It's happened to me in Reston in my old hatch. My tint was legal but the lady wouldn't believed me and pulled out her measuring box. When it showed that it was legal, I just gave her the smirk. The bitch didn't like it so she gave me an exhaust ticket. Female swine.

LOL I had that happened to me several years ago. She pulled me over for the exhaust then told me that my tint was illegal, I told her that i didn't have any tint on she didn't believe she asked me to roll it up and you guys should have seen her face, but then she asked to search my car and at the end she just gave me an exhaust ticket. LOL

35% all around only been pulled over 3 times for it in a span of 5 years? something like that.
But I only got a ticket as a second offense. So it might be true what dragonboy said.

If you draw attention to yourself or our speeding and your tint isn't legal limit, expect a ticket for it.

if a state trooper doesnt say anything about it dont worry. state overrides the city or county cops.

They can pull you over just for tints. They can stop you at anytime for any reason. Personally I have been pulled over twice already for my tints, each ticket cost close to a hundred bucks. The fine is like 20 bucks but the court cost was like 76 bucks i think, something rediculous. Mine is 17% all around.

After being stopped 4 times just for tint on my last car I found it much easier to not be constantly harassed by not getting any tint on my current ride.
