As far as quiet, its a big combo of sorts, not just the muffler.
They have all posted decent selections, but if he pieces it together, make sure hes got a resonator, decent muffler, and (kind of optional, but good at note and noise massaging) a cat.

The bigger the piping, the harder it will be to keep sound to a minimal level. IE: 2.25'' is easier to mute than 2.5''

+1 on the 2.25" pipe. all motor its plenty, and even low boost. met a kid with a turboed hatch with a 2 1/4 and it was pretty damn quiet.
