I don't know how tall you are, but the Duke is really tall, so that might make your decision easy. I've never ridden the Duke, but I've ridden the Triumph and it's an awesome bike. If I had the scratch to chuck down on a new bike it would be a Speed Triple. The Duke is sexy as well, but IMO the Triumph is an awesome value and still not a "me too" bike.

 

Rode my buddies KTM the other day and it was a little tall, but fun. Gotta check out the Triumph this weekend, and then I'll make the decision.

 

I want a super duke sooooo bad!! I'd get my license taken in a week though.

 

Went and checked out the speed triple yesterday. Thats the one. Gonna wait till the 08's though. Brembo's, New rims, inverted front forks, only $300 more.

 

I beileve the KTM got the Motorcycle of the Year award from Motorcyclist magazine.

 

Which Speed triple do u plan on getting?? The ~654cc (think that's why i said ~) or the 1K

 

The Speed Triple is a 1050. The 675cc model is based on the Daytona 675 and is called the STREET Triple. The Street Triple is new for '08.

I have an '05 Speed Triple and love it. All around good bike. Comfortable position, tons of useable power, and looks mean. I don't have the info in front of me but I know it also received bike of the year from a couple different magazines, including 2 years in a row, I believe, from Motorcyclist.
I was looking into the SuperDuke recently because it too has gotten so many good reviews, Id really like to ride one. But I'm pretty sure I'd be kicking myself if I got rid of the Triple.
