I know how both wastegate works. I see what you mean tho. By taking the internal wastegate flapper off and routing that area to an external wastegate.... daym, that is too much of an inconvenince trying to rig something like that.....

I'll give a brief run down of some basic wastegate information.
The "gold can" often associated with the internal wastegate setup is what's called the wastegate actuator. There is a spring in there which determines when the actuator will move the arm and open the wastegate. From your info, this spring is a 12psi spring. You change the spring, or to an actuator with a different spring, you change when the wastegate opens.
Did you understand taht last sentence?, because that's your answer.
If a dumbass tells you that you can turn it down with a boost controller, kick them in the nuts and never listen to anything they have to say ever again.
You can always run an external wastegate and solve everything, the downside being more money and more work.

SORRY to bust your bubble eric (if the arm is treaded) all u have to do it take waste gate acutator arm off then turn end back to make the arm shorter about 1 turn is about 1/2 psi mayeb more depening on turbo then put hte arm back to the wastegate ... its a free mod SEND ME PICTURE OF THE ACTUAROR ROD AND ILL TELL U IF U CAN....

Since I already know the arm is not threaded I didn't bother. Pats actuator arm is like that, I know plenty about it you're not telling me anything new.
Thanks and don't let the door hit you on your way out of this thread.
