Cops mostly just mess with the import guys, they usually leave domestic cars (mustang, camaros, trans ams, etc...) alone.

When I was in high school it was the jacked up trucks, they fizzed out and it was the low rider trucks, then the mustangs and such, and now the imports. If you are in an attention getting vehicle and out at the prime times you are getting pulled. Yes I own a Mustang and have the tinted window, no front plate, loud exhaust tickets to prove it. And yes I have the illegal bumper hieght tickets from my low rider, altered exhaust from my Rx-7's, and tinted window tickets from all. i have a nice collection since obtaining my permit back in 1985.
It's all about revenue generation, and keeping the drugs and alcohol off the streets.
Well EGZ I have sat in a couple of troopers cars and had to read the law on Windo tint as well as exhaust. SO I'm not sure of the exact paragraoh etc but it's there....As I mentioned in the begining of this post this isn't a justification post just if you want to help do so if not thanks for looking...

It states that no other parts shall be installed, meaning vehicle should remain stock. It needs to be known that this is a hobby to many and is in no way causing harm to others. Many states surrounding Virgina allow for such things.

just as it states word for word in the code there...to that means if its an exhause w/ a larger diameter piping then stock or the spec of the stock then it's illegal.

I was stating that from my experience, I have three mustangs, never gotten a ticket for doing supposedly illegal custom stuff, plenty of my friends, have in thier imports. Sorry you are sick of hearing it, but from MY experience it's how it is right now. I can't take every single person in VA with a domestic into account. But.. other than that I agree with what you said, and I think that the imports are getting the bad rap right now, who knows what it will be in a few years.
