You're thinking about removing the power steering because it's leaking? Seriously?

If you really want to do this, get a setup from a non-power assist car because the ratios are different. There will be a lot less steering effort that way. Simply removing the power steering setup will just mean that all of the steering input will have to be done by you at the same box and/or rack ratios.
