exactly. Put some 3.55 gears back in the lightning like it had in 99-00 and run it in Feb like the SRT-10 instead of JULY and it would be a bit closer.

more potential? Ask the viper owners about the mod market and the prices. Then ask a modular ford guy about the mod market available.

never said it was cheaper Mosts people can't afford to build a mopar up. Look at a new hemi 426 motor. Runs about 12k in price. I'm just saying it has more potential. Volvo doesnt have bigger aftermarket, thats why we build custom stuff. Like I'm buying pauter rods, arias pistons, fully blue printed from 8500 rpms ( for safty purposes). It yeilds to about 2000-2500 dollar bottom end work. How does this corelat to mopar you ask your self? Just cause there isnt big aftermarket for the product doesnt mean it's not out there.

someone correct me if Im wrong, but since the lightning is supercharged wouldnt that not give it as big of an advantage as a naturally aspirated engine gets from running in colder weather?

Dodge fucked up big time by putting out a truck with the viper motor for 45k. Who's going to pay $40,000 more just to get the same motor in a sports car?

They should have put the vipers on an assembly line like the trucks and got the cost down to sub-60k, then maybe they could sell them. Oh well, it's not like they make money off of Viper sales so I guess it doesn't matter either way
