okay i guess i spoke too soon. the car idles fine at 750rpm but the temperature gauge shows cold. cant you ground the coolant temp sensor wire and if the gauge pins to hot then its good? i vaguely remember reading that on some faq on crxcommunity.com


anyone else have any input? car shows signs of being warmed up yet the temp gauge reads way low. thermostat is good.

sounds like a combination of your ect (engine coolant temp. sensor) and thermostat

Yep, you can check it with a multimeter.

make sure you are checking the right coolant sensor and not the one for the fan at the thermostat housing but the one in the side of the head that actually controls the gauge cuz it is common for a faulty sensor to cut out when it reachs higher temps....
