Nice videos- I really enjoy the fender-to-fender goodness.

Question: What types of modding are typical of another C5/C6 in ST2??

Thanks for posting those videos, impressive driving. Especially liked how the video showed you dealing with
traffic - most people seem to pussyfoot around in traffic and are too afraid to stray from their line - which i can understand.

Question - are the ST1/ST2 classes limited to certain makes/models from specific years? You tend to see the same models for the most part - example, I know AI/AIX is limited to american models but you see most of the same models out there - I assume because drivers want to be driving the most competitive models. I ask because I remember reading on britishv8 that a gentleman was building a '92? MG RV8 and he had to lobby to have it allowed to run ST2(he runs in the midwest) but they limited him to 3.5L displacement despite the car coming stock with a 3.9L - so hes at a disadvantage(~just under 300whp / 2200lb car)

Because the pads had just enough left where putting them in the garbage would have been throwing away a bunch of pad. I thought I could get through the Saturday race with them w/o issue and would put my new pads in for Sunday (which is what I did), but the car just won't stop as good with less pad material as there's less to absorb/dissipate heat. I had about 1/16 to 1/8 of pad left on all of them

The car I was chasing was an ex SCCA Touring 1 (T1) car so it wasn't modded like it could be. A full on ST2 car can have spherical suspension bearings, any suspension components you want, any brakes, any sized tires and full aero (which makes the biggest difference). Just has to be 8.7/1 pounds per horsepower.

For example, Danny Popp was driving James Forbis' ST2/TTS car and set a new track record for the class with a 1:28.xx. The PTA/TTA track record was reset this weekend by Mark Nunnally with a 1:31.1. The average fully built ST2/TTS car being driven fast (the most important part) is about 3-4 seconds a lap faster than a well driven PTA/TTA car if not more. At VIR Popp has run a 1:57 vs. the TTA record of 2:03.9.

My balls aren't big enough to do this stuff on a bike

It's an open class... just have to stay within the power/weight. Some cars need special classifications which are decided upon by the NASA national director Greg Greenbaum. For instance the Panoz my dad has is allowed to run ST2 etc. but must take a +.02 penalty on the weight/power ratio due to being a tube frame chassis and being so light. The idea is to create some type of parity across many different types of cars. Overall they do a very good job of this.
