"BLOWER PROS"
there when you need it
the whistling sound
the whine at WOT (positive displacement)
more pull than N20 (assuming the N20 is not in stages)
more hp than tq
the sound of a BOV

I agee that the Pros and cons of each application depend upon the car that you are putting them on. For example, my engine and blower combo produces far more torque than horsepower.

Personally I would rather have a turboed SN95 but that's me. Cost really isn't that bad. You have to think that everything (That can be) in the kits at least the ones I looked at at one time was HP performance's kits is all jet hot coated. Comes with intercooler etc. I just looked at a kit that came with QA1 K-Member etc but to me that's a benefit. May cost a bit more money but still will benefit the car and it's times also.

I'm just going to sit back and watch though......I wonder where Steve is.

I don't think turbos give worse gas mileage. Any high output engine will get worse mileage, but the beauty of a turbo is that when you are at low throttle conditions, the turbo isn't doing anything. With a larger than stock turbo (and bigger injectors) on my car, I still get 28 mpg.

i totally agree...but at the time a lot of people will opt for the blower because of the less inital cost. remember, a lot of people have a shop do the work for them, so now youve got labor to factor in.

Yeah but that's how people are. To me a twin turbo Cobra or a single Turbo would be awesome. Some people love the SCs and like on Matt's I love hearing that whine but to hear a BOV on a Mustang would be crazy. I've only seen one in my lifetime down in Greensboro I believe. My dad works on Turbos for a living (Big Trucks) and he's owned it all but he still favors and loves turbos. Why? Because of the expansion provided by one. Everything on my car will be done by me with the exception of the 4.10 gear install. I was reading some directions that HP Performance gives with their kits on installs and to me it's very thorough and anyone who has a shop do it isn't very bright.

Steve knows alot more about this then I think any of us so I wonder what he has to say.

and lets not forget the need to strengthen other components.....you cant just slap a s/c or a turbo on a car and expect it to work right....

ive seen a couple. guy around here had a 93 with the stock shortblock. i dont remember exactly his numbers, but they were sick. stock cam. of course he grenaded the shortblock, among stripping out all the teeth in 3rd gear in his T5..but it was a sweet ass car.

saw a SN-95 302 based car at VMP...it was an auto and he was going consistent 11.50s....i dont know what his exact setup was, but im sure it was conservative

Matt's 96 Cobra. LOL. Let Matt tell you about all the mods that are done.

But from what I've seen the 4.6L 4V DOHC takes to a FI like a baby to a bottle.

Going along with the cost route, you also have to factor in a shortblock in the near future for our cars and many others.
The probablility of eventual tranny work as well, depending on how much HP/TQ.
