Haley Toyota

You have to pay to play. You said yourself that it's a pretty major job, so that price doesn't sound that bad. I can't quite discern what exactly happened from your jumbled he-said-she-said style of storytelling, but it sounds like the only thing bad that happened was some miscommunication between the shop manager and the parts guy. Shit like that happens unfortunately.

They arn't charging any more labor for the hub..it's really not too hard once u have to replace the bearing..
The book one shop had said it was a 3 hour job... Dude at Haley said they can do it in 2.5 hours..
Labor is $275

It's hard to do I know but you say you "WANT TO BE A MECHANIC" That is part of it. Joey, my Dad and anyone will tell you they learned most of what they know from tinkering not just reading and things. I know you better then that Nikki. I don't think you're a magazine mechanic or magazine racer....or at least I hope not.
But good luck. What's done is done and what's spent is spent.

Don't feel bad though I'm just really learning to work on cars etc myself hardcore. Good Luck to ya though.
damn...i am gonna go work for Haley! if they charge 110/hr..like you say, we are just straight not charging enough!!
tinkering is the key....kinda. some people do nothing more then fuck shit up trying to fix it themselves...and make repair harder for a pro to do it......but ya gotta lear somehow.....a supra is kinda not the best thing to learn on, though.
stick to a easier car to learn on....

Save your money on the BTECH thing--they really don't teach you that much. My husband has taught me more about my car--and he learns everything just by reading "How to books". Good luck in whatever you decide--just remember shops DO try to rip you off just because your a girl!!
